A child can pray perfectly and still be unkind, so Islam trains the inside too. These lessons start where every deed starts — the intention — and then take the four things that damage a heart fastest: lying, talking too much, backbiting, and wanting what someone else has. Each one is anchored in an ayah and a hadith from Bukhari or Muslim, in the wording those books actually use.
Lesson 1 · Niyyah · ages 8-11
Deeds follow intentions
The same action can be worth everything or nothing. What decides it is why you did it.
1The first hadith of Bukhari
The Prophet ﷺ said the reward of deeds depends upon the intentions, and each person gets what he intended.
2Nobody can check it
Parents can see the prayer; only Allah sees the reason for it — which is why honesty here matters.
3Small deeds grow
Tidying a room 'for Allah' becomes worship. The act did not change; the intention did.
4Showing off empties it
Allah wants worship done sincerely for Him alone, not for an audience.
5Renew it
Say bismillah and mean it — that is the intention being reset, many times a day.
Wa maa umiroo il-la liy'abu dul laaha mukhliseena lahud-deena huna faa-a wa yuqeemus salaahta wa yu-tuz zakaata; wa zaalika deenul qaiyimah
“And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.”
Yuslih lakum a'maalakum wa yaghfir lakum zunoobakum; wa mai yuti'il laaha wa Rasoolahoo faqad faaza fawzan 'azeemaa
“He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.”
“Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 6094

Lesson 3 · The tongue · ages 5-7
Speak good, or stay quiet
There is a third option children forget: saying nothing. The Prophet ﷺ made it part of believing in Allah.
1The rule
The Prophet ﷺ said whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet.
2Neighbours too
The same hadith says such a person does not harm his neighbour and honours his guest.
3Words are recorded
Allah says not a word is uttered without a watcher ready to record it.
4Think before answering
Pausing before replying when angry is a sunnah-shaped habit.
5Silence is not weakness
Walking away from an argument is a choice a strong person makes.
Wa qul li'ibaadee yaqoolul latee hiya ahsan; innash shaitaana yanzaghu bainahum; innash shaitaana kaana lil insaani 'aduwwam mubeenaa
“And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan induces [dissension] among them. Indeed Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy.”
Surah Al-Muminoon · 23:3
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
Wallazeena hum 'anillaghwimu'ridoon
“And they who turn away from ill speech”
“Anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor, and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 6018

Lesson 4 · Gheebah · ages 12-15
What backbiting really is
Backbiting is not making things up — it is saying something true that the person would hate to hear.
1The definition
The Prophet ﷺ said backbiting is talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like.
2True is not an excuse
He said if the failing is really in him, that is backbiting; if it is not, that is slander.
3Allah calls it repulsive
The Qur'an compares it to eating the flesh of your dead brother and tells us to avoid it.
4Do not spy or guess
Suspicion and searching for faults are named alongside it as things to keep away from.
5Defend instead
Changing the subject or saying one good thing is how you leave the conversation clean.
Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanuj taniboo kaseeram minaz zanni inna ba'daz zanniismunw wa laa tajassasoo wa la yaghtab ba'dukum ba'daa; a yuhibbu ahadukum any yaakula lahma akheehi maitan fakarih tumooh; wattaqul laa; innal laaha tawwaabur Raheem
“O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.”
“Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like.”
Sahih Muslim 2589

Lesson 5 · Hasad · ages 12-15
Envy, suspicion and grudges
Wanting someone else to lose what Allah gave them is arguing with Allah's decision — and it eats the person who does it.
1The list of things to drop
The Prophet ﷺ said beware of suspicion, do not spy, do not be jealous of one another, do not desert one another, do not hate one another — be brothers.
2Ghibtah, not hasad
Wanting the same good for yourself is fine; wanting them to lose it is what is forbidden.
3Say Ma sha' Allah
Praising Allah for someone else's blessing turns envy into a good deed on the spot.
4Do not hold grudges
Islam limits how long you may stay cut off from a Muslim; reconciling first is the better side.
5Ask for your own
Instead of counting their blessings, make dua for yours — Allah's provision is not a fixed pie.
Wa laa tatamannaw maa faddalal laahu bihee ba'dakum 'alaa ba'd; lirrijaali naseebum mimak tasaboo wa linnisaaa'i naseebum mimmak tasabna; was'alullaaha min fadlih; innal laaha kaana bikulli shai'in 'Aleemaa
“And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of his bounty. Indeed Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing.”
Wa laa tamuddanna 'ainaika ilaa ma matta'na biheee azwajam minhum zahratal hayaatid dunya linaftinahum feeh; wa rizqu Rabbika khairunw wa abqaa
“And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.”
“Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look for the others' faults and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relation with) one another, and do not hate one another.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 6064
